Jim Obuchi

Jim Obuchi has been a Senior Compliance Consultant with the Reymann Law Group since its inception in 2020.  Prior to this, Jim was at Franklin Templeton Investments for 35 years.  He served as VP/Regulatory Compliance Officer for two bank and trust entities within Franklin Templeton where he maintained a comprehensive compliance program that covered an array of laws and regulations, such Reg W (transactions with affiliates), Reg O (insider loans), Community Reinvestment Act, OFAC & 314a, identity theft/red flags, escheatment and financial elder abuse.  He was also responsible for managing the oversight activities of retirement plans and collective investment trusts (CITs) on behalf of the custodian and institutional trustee.

Jim holds a Masters of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University (San Francisco, CA), and received his bachelor’s degree in Political Economy from the University of California at Berkeley.  He had previously maintained a Series 6 license, and has had extensive training in the areas of information security and ERISA/retirement plan compliance.
